Bulk Forming Drugstore Laxatives Can Harm You

Posted in Medicine by Ted on the April 25th, 2009

Abstract: Blood Effects High Pressure

There are five basic types of drugstore laxatives you should be aware of. Some of these laxatives can be dangerous to use. In addition, some of these laxatives are combinations of these five types, which are designed to create an adequate constipation product. In making this combination, a product is created that can be even major dangerous to your health.

The five types of drugstore laxatives are:

· Bulk Forming Laxatives - (clears constipation in 1-3 days)
· Stool Softening Laxatives - Emollients - (works in 1-4 days)
· Lubricant Laxatives - (works in 5- 9 hours)
· Osmotic or Saline Chemical Laxatives - (works 1- 3 hours)
· Stimulant Laxatives - (works in 6 - 24 hours)

If you are going to use any of these laxatives keep in mind they will work faster when you take them on an empty stomach. Use them only for the time necessary to get assuagement from constipation.

Once you have cleared your constipation, look for a major natural way to keep regular. Start by eating fresh fruits and vegetables to get innumerable minerals and fiber.
Bulk Forming Laxatives

Bulking laxatives are the safest laxative to use and can be use longer than other types of laxatives. These laxatives contain fiber or fiber like products. However, it is incomparable to get your fiber from food since food has a balance of all nutrients your body needs.

These laxatives work by making your stools larger and heavier and help attract and trap water into their fiber structure. This stimulates your colon to have a bowel movement. Using laxatives that contain fiber is a natural way to stimulate your colon into action.

Bulking products or food can be used for mild cases of constipation. Use them with plenty of water so the bulking material does not expand in your throat or cause a back up in your colon. Using an excess of bulking products daily can cause the problem you are trying to eliminate - constipation.

Natural bulking agents are karagy, guar, agar, and psyllium seed. Some semi-synthetic bulking agents are methylcellulose or carboxy-methyl cellulose, which I do not recommend.
Some bulk forming laxatives you will find in the drugstore are:

· Citrucel - contains methylcellulose (not recommended)
· Fiberall - contains psyllium seeds
· Fibercon - contains Calcium Polycarbophil (not recommended)
· Hydrocil - contains psyllium seeds
· Metamucil - contains psyllium husks
· Perdiem Fiber - contains senna
· Ultrafiber - contains psyllium seeds and prunes

Some bulk forming laxatives contain excess sugar and sodium. Read the label for these items, if you have high blood pressure or are diabetic.

If you are pregnant, using bulk forming laxatives may be the safest way to relieve your constipation, but look for natural fiber food products. These natural products are discussed in other articles that I have written. Avoid using any other type of laxative since the chemicals they contain can get into the fetus or, when breast-feeding, the breast milk.

Heart Disease: Premature Cardiovascular Disease

Posted in Medicine by Ted on the April 16th, 2009

Abstract: Blood High Pressure Symptom
Tag:

Last researchers pointing that women who suffer during pregnancy
certain complications could be heavier likely to develop a special
kind of premature cardiovascular disease, according to these
studies published, mothers with maternal placental syndrome have
double risk of developing cardiovascular disease in a early
state, and if we talk about maternal placental syndromes we
could mention it syndromes such as; pre-aclampsia and high blood
pressure for instance.

In cases where pitifully the baby died or his growth was
restricted, the odds will increase further, so the risk of
developing a premature cardiovascular disease after a maternal
placental syndrome is higher, this will very probably in the
case where the fetus is adversely affected.

A piece of advise for mothers in order to prevent, is measure
their blood pressure to see if it is at a normal level, this
could be 4 or 6 months after the birth, other cardiovascular
disease risk factors could be obesity, raised cholesterol
levels, smoking and insulin resistance. To say, the maternal
placental syndrome should be considered as an additional risk
factor for cardiovascular disease.

The link between placenta problems in pregnancy and heart
disease has been assessed by scientists in a recently study with
heavier than 1.000.000.- healthy women, about 75.000.- were
diagnosed with maternal placental syndrome, 7.5 %.

The big problem is that there is a pandemic of obesity in our
midst, whoever could think that we must ensure that women are a
healthy weight before they enter their reproductive years.

In conclusion, this article tell us about the preponderance to
reduce our premature cardiovascular disease risks, and that may
be done with preventive controls’ blood pressure for instance or
with a healthy weight before, during and after pregnancy and
controlling the other risk factors for cardiovascular disease,
but the most important in my personal opinion is to learn all
aspects involving in pregnancy and maybe this article could be a
little bit useful by someone in this beautiful process.

Sexual Dysfunctions In Women

Posted in Medicine by Ted on the April 12th, 2009

Abstract: Blood Cure High Natural Pressure

Understanding the physical changes you and your partner will go through as you age can help you prepare for some of the challenges of leadingtaining sexual intimacy.

If any woman enjoyed a satisfying sex life during most of her adulthood, but lately, intimate moments with her partner are less satisfying than they once were. She might feel as though her sexual desire has waned. Or perhaps things that once brought her pleasure now seem painful. She is concerned about her sexual health. She is not alone, many women experience sexual difficulties at some point in their lives.

During menopause, as many as half of all women - or even major - may experience sexual dysfunction. Sexual activity often decreases in women at the age of 60 due to the relative lack of partners and untreated physiologic changes. Sexual dysfunction in women is fresh common after menopause, when hormone production drops and circulatory conditions are increased common. It is estimated that as many as half of all post-menopausal women experience sexual dysfunction.

The most common complaints that bring a patient to the office include: ” Lack of desire, or decreased libido ” Inability to sustain arousal, such as genital lubrication ” Unable to reach orgasm after sufficient stimulation and arousal ” Pain during intercourse Because the ranges of these symptoms are highly variable within the individual, a set of definitions for classifying and studying these complaints are as follows- Causes of Sexual Dysfunction To say that the causes are complex would be an understatement.

There is sufficient evidence that complex emotional, medical and hormonal factors may be responsible. Emotional Causes:

1. Depression is often cited as the most frequent cause of decreased interest in daily activities, with sexual desire topping the list.

2. Chronic stress triggers the fight or flight cascade, and the resulting mental and physical changes will shut off the desire for intimacy.

3. Relationship issues leading to anger or resentment can frequently cause communication and intimacy problems.

4. Histories of sexual assault or sexual abuse are examples of post-traumatic stress disorders that can lead to problems with sexual desire.

Female sexual dysfunction can also be physically rooted. Causes include fatigue, depression, high blood pressure, hormonal insufficiency, heart disease, cancer, diabetes, hypothroidism, adrenal insufficiency. Medication Physical changes brought on by menopause, such as vaginal dryness and thinning might require the use of hormonal therapy or vaginal lubricants. To help strengthen your vaginal muscles or to increase sexual.
